The British Consul responsible for founding the English Cemetery. He came to the city in 1816 after a successful career in the Royal Navy and was appointed consul in 1824. He was a great defender of the rights of the British community and fought hard to get a decent site for Protestant burials. In 1829 he acquired the land and the cemetery opened in 1831 with the burial of George Stephens. Until his death, he continued to work to improve the Cemetery. His family mausoleum is one of the most recognizable monuments.

Fue el Cónsul Británico responsable de la fundación del Cementerio Inglés de Málaga. Llega a la ciudad en 1816, tras una exitosa carrera en la Royal Navy, y es nombrado cónsul de la misma en 1824. Fue un gran defensor de los derechos de su comunidad y luchó por obtener un lugar digno para los enterramientos protestantes. En 1829 consigue los terrenos y en 1831 inaugura el cementerio con el enterramiento de George Stephens. Hasta su muerte trabaja por hacer del Cementerio Inglés de Málaga un lugar confortable y de refugio para la comunidad inglesa. Su mausoleo familiar es uno de los más reconocibles del monumento.
