"The Works of Persiles and Sigismunda" is Miguel de Cervantes's posthumous work. Published in Madrid in 1617, the year of his death. It is a book of adventure and travels from northern territories of Norway or Finland to Rome to receive Christian marriage. It is the most carefully written of his prose works, and the one piece Cervantes hoped to achieve fame after death. Much of the Persiles takes place on the sea, as the two main protagonists and numerous other characters embark on an ocean peregrination from Northern Europe until its last island located at the end of the world: Thule.

« Los trabajos de Persiles y Sigismunda » es la obra póstuma de Miguel de Cervantes. Fue publicada en Madrid en 1617, al año de su muerte. Se trata de un libro de aventuras y de viajes, una novela bizantina, que es el género narrativo más culto de la época, y por el que esperaba Cervantes conseguir la fama después de muerte. La geografía de las aventuras de la novelas lleva a sus protagonistas a estar en Noruega, a asombrarse de su geografía, donde se encuentra la última isla en el mundo : Tule.
