In 1915, the poet and publisher Choi Sung Nam translated into Korean fragments of Don Quixote, published in the Youth Journal. This first translation was made from a Japanese translation and it is not until the early years of this century to have the first translations of Quixote directly from the Spanish. These translations were made by Chul Park in 2004 he completed part one, and in 2015 Park's complete translation of part two is the first to receive official recognition from the Royal Spanish Academy. Also, in 2014 it was inaugurated the Center for Cervantes's Studies in Korea, the first of its kind in Asia.

En los últimos años el Quijote, gracias a la labor de Park Chul, ha comenzado a traducirse desde el español: en el 2004 la primera parte y en el 2015 la segunda. En el año 2014 se ha inaugurado el Centro de Estudios Cervantinos de Corea, el primero en Asia.
