Belice es un país único en Centroamérica. Para empezar, es la única nación de la región cuyo idioma oficial es el inglés, un legado de su pasado como colonia británica (conocida como Honduras Británica). Es un país pequeño, pero con una biodiversidad descomunal. Su mayor tesoro es la Barrera de Coral de Belice, la segunda más grande del mundo después de la australiana, un paraíso para buceadores y amantes del snorkel que alberga maravillas como el Gran Agujero Azul (Great Blue Hole). Este sistema de arrecifes es tan importante que es Patrimonio de la Humanidad por la UNESCO.

Pero Belice no es solo mar. Su interior está cubierto por una densa selva tropical salpicada de antiguas ciudades y templos mayas, como Caracol y Xunantunich, que nos hablan de su rico pasado precolombino. Su cultura es un vibrante mosaico de influencias: criollos, mestizos, mayas y garífunas (descendientes de africanos y caribes) conviven creando una atmósfera relajada y multicultural. Su capital es Belmopán, una de las capitales más pequeñas del mundo, aunque la ciudad más grande y el principal centro comercial sigue siendo la Ciudad de Belice.
