Sin embargo, la historia reciente de Siria es devastadora. Desde 2011, el país está inmerso en una brutal y compleja guerra civil que ha provocado una de las peores crisis humanitarias del siglo XXI. Ha causado cientos of miles de muertes, el desplazamiento de más de la mitad de la población y la destrucción de gran parte de su increíble patrimonio cultural. El país se encuentra fracturado y su futuro es incierto. La situación actual hace que sea imposible visitarlo y ha sumido a su gente en un sufrimiento extremo.

However, Syria's recent history is devastating. Since 2011, the country has been immersed in a brutal and complex civil war that has caused one of the worst humanitarian crises of the 21st century. It has led to hundreds of thousands of deaths, the displacement of more than half the population, and the destruction of much of its incredible cultural heritage. The country is fractured, and its future is uncertain. The current situation makes it impossible to visit and has plunged its people into extreme suffering.
